College SEED Night

Valley Christian School is co-sponsoring a College SEED Night at the Alliance Church Youth Building, Wednesday, October 13th. SEED stand for Students Exploring Educational Development. The purpose of the night is to provide a platform and venue for high school students and parents to explore post-secondary options and issues. The night will be set up as a mini-conference with a couple of seminar sessions scheduled and a ending general session.

Topics include “The Admissions Process”, “Financial Aid”, “The College Search”, “Educational Goals: why parents need to be involved”, “Start Now: how students can make the most of the highschool years, “Careers: Changes in the Workplace,” and “Understanding God’s Will When It Comes to Schooling.”

The keynote speaker is Mitch Fisk, Vice President of Marketing and Enrollment at San Diego Christian College.

Polk County Fair Booth

Valley Christian School will be having a booth at the Polk County Fair July 29th – August 1st. So, be on the look out for our booth as you attend the fair and stop in.

K4 Program

At their regularly scheduled meeting – June 10th, the VCS School Board voted to proceed with the K4 Program for the upcoming 2010-11 school year. In the past couple of weeks, additional parental interest from the community at large for such a program has encouraged the board to move in this direction.

At this point in time, the school’s administration is working to get the word out about the need for a qualified instructor for the K4 Program and the availability for student enrollments.

Annual VCS “Thrift” Sale

Coming up next week – June 3, 4, and 5; Valley Christian will be holding their annual “thrift” sale at their new location – 661b West St., Taylors Falls, MN. This annual “thrift” sale contains gently used clothing for all ages, baby items, kitchen item and other household items, books, music (sheet and discs), kids toys and much, much more. This sale is hosted as a benefit and outreach to the community. Come one! Come All!

Kindergarten Readiness Program

Educational Fair

Kids, students like to show and demonstrate what they have learned. It does not matter if the “kid” is 2 or 22 or 92, he or she likes to “show off” what they have been up to. On April 15, 2010, from 6:30-8pm, the students of VCS will be showing and demonstrating some of the things they have been learning in their various classes. There will be illustrations, pictures, 3-d projects, and even some live dissections during the the annual Educational Fair. Parents, friends, and members of the community are invited to the school that evening to hear and see what the student have been learning.

Chisago Lakes Home Show

Come see Valley Christian School at the Chisago Lakes Home Show Feb 27-28, 10-5/11-4 at the Chisago Lakes HS on Olinda Tr. The VCS booth is booth “H” in the gym. Also, Ron Brace will presenting a seminar @ 3pm on Saturday and 2:30pm on Sunday entitled, “Developing Educational Goals for Our Children: Why Parents Need to be Involved!
