Greetings, VCS friends, family, and Body of Christ!
I was reading in James 1 this week and thought, “Whoa. This hits.” So often when we are talking to students, our own children, or any child, we are carefully assessing the circumstance and searching God’s Word for answers. I have found children to be amazingly honest, innocently needful, and far more often than not, grateful.
A child has a keen sense of both justice and injustice, A child has a faith and a hope that those who care for them will do their very best to care for them. I do believe that they too are very forgiving as well when we say “I’m sorry,” and they so easily begin again.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to retain that child-like faith? We can! We have such a good Heavenly Father who loves us and has offered His Son on the cross to forgive our sins, give us eternal life, and then make us more like HIm.
James 1:2-6 says, “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.”
I hope these verses are as much of an encouragement to you as they are to me. Whatever we face, we can turn to our perfect Heavenly Father! We can ask Him for wisdom knowing He will give, give generously! And He gives without finding fault! Praise Him.
We hope each of your beautiful families has a wonderful extended weekend!
In Christ,
Kathy Thompson

Hello and Welcome to The Newest Addition to the school newsletter, The Scoop Snoopers. I, Luke Koski and my friend Danielle Johnson interview different teachers or staff members.
Today’s subject is: The new 6th Grade Teacher, Ms.Chase.
In the interview, we asked her what her favorite thing about Valley is, she replied “ I like a Christian Environment, to be able to pray before class starts, and not be shamed for it, and to be able to share Jesus with the students.”
Then on a completely different note, her favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice, which also happens to be her favorite book, by Jane Austin. She also likes American football, specifically the Minnesota Vikings(sorry Mrs. Thompson). She also enjoys Videos about the weather and when a storm is going to hit.
And Videos about Great Pyrenees Dogs, because she has one, named Hungry Dave. Her favorite book is Peace Like a river by Leif Enger. Her favorite Bible Verse is “Let the morning bring me Word of your Unfailing Love for I have put my Trust in You” Psalm 143:8. She loves music quite a bit, her favorite hymn is “Great is Thy Faithfulness”. But her favorite Worship Song is “ Be Thou My Vision “.
In her free time, she spends time with her dog, Hungry Dave. But also Baking, cooking, painting masterpieces of art, and spending time with her parents. But as she says, “ Primarily Hungry Dave ‘.
She was born and raised in Houston, Texas. then later she moved to, Minnesota. A few years later, she moved to Lander, Wyoming for Seven years, and eventually, she wound up in Dresser, Wisconsin.
