JAGUAR NEWS
We are racing to the finish line! With four weeks left of school, most of the staff has one foot in this year and one foot in next year! We are excited to plan for the future: to create a calendar, update policies, establish new hopes and goals, order curriculum, evaluate class sizes and rooms, and so much more! However, to do that effectively we need to not lose sight of the present nor forget the past. A successful future will include continuing to do well in “what we do well,” and with much thought, intention, and wisdom grow into His plans for us.
I Corinthians 15:58 comes to mind. “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
It is difficult in the human spirit to endure difficulty in the race to finish well. As teachers, staff, and parents we recognize this and remind our students and children that we understand. While we do this we also remind them that it is necessary. It is so easy to take time to do all the things that “look fun or exciting” and to procrastinate on foundational moves. However, if we take time to do the hard work we will not only reap the rewards of accomplishing the “necessary” but we will have what we need to accomplish so much more! Didn’t He say that He has come to give us life and life more abundantly? (John 10:10)
Our seniors are only weeks from graduating. These topics and conversations have been frequent over the months of this year, but as parents, staff, family and friends, let us model that to these young adults moving swiftly into a new season in their life which requires less more prayer coverage than safety nets. I pray we model that to all our children and that while we grow and learn that we are swift to model saying I’m sorry or remedying what we have done wrong and what it looks like to “begin again.” His mercies are new every morning. “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
Have a beautiful weekend. Perhaps get up early to see the sunrise and be reminded of His mercies.
Blessings in Christ,
Kathy Thompson
Senior Trip
We have missed our seniors this week while they were away on their long anticipated “senior trip” to North Carolina. We are so blessed that Therese and Steve Nelson were willing to be chaperones and spend the week with them, hiking, white water rafting, and discipling these beautiful young people in the Lord. We are very excited to hear about their trip next week as they settle back into class. (We know they missed us too…)
