JAGUAR NEWS

DEAR VCS PARENTS AND FRIENDS,

On June 24th , early in the morning – 5:30am, there were two beautiful rainbows at the tail end of an early morning shower. It was spectacular to see them and remembering God’s promise to Noah at the end of the flood –

Gen 9:11  I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”

Gen 9:12  And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations:

Gen 9:13  I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

This got my mind turning, the word “flood” and thinking about the evidence of such a worldwide flood even here in the St. Croix Valley. All one needs to do is to either go to the limestone cliffs in Osceola or in Taylors’ Falls to observe the evidence. Limestone is made up of the exoskeletons of small marine animals. These sea creatures were washed in from many thousands of miles away. Also, all the limestone was deposited in a short period of time. You may ask, “How do you know it wasn’t deposited over millions of years?” Two things come to mind, a) How do millions of years transport small marine creatures thousands of miles resulting in limestone cliffs hundreds of feet thick? And b) should you observe the limestone, you will find the absence of organic sedimentary layers which should be evident should the limestone be deposited over many millions of years. In this case, you should see a layer of limestone, then a sizeable layer of organic matter, and then another layer of limestone and so on. But you don’t. All you see is the limestone separate by very thin layers of organic matter. This signifies that the limestone must have been laid down very quickly.

Continue to pray for the position vacancies that are at the school: MS Math/English, K-12 P.E., 3 rd grade, MS/HS History, MS/HS Math, and a volunteer soccer coach for the fall season. If you know of anyone that could fill these positions, please encourage them to apply. In my last newsletter, I mentioned that I had begun interviewing prospective teachers. At this board meeting – 19th , the board will be interviewing possibly five candidates.

Also, we could use some additional substitute teachers for the coming year. It is inevitable that there will be times where a sub-teacher is needed. My goal is to not have to sub in the coming year, so that I can provide full support for our staff.

The fundraising committee is still seeking 2-3 additional members for the committee beginning with the new school year.

The next regularly scheduled school board meeting is scheduled for July 19, 2022 @ 6pm. The school board is seeking 1-3 more members to be on the team, one with specific gifting in note taking/communication.

Remember the dates 8/18 – Welcome Back Night/Fall Corporate meeting, and 8/22 – First Day of School!

Pressing forward for His glory,

Ron
