We can hardly believe that we are wrapping up our second full week of school! A distinct scent of fall reminds us that the season is indeed in full swing and we are enjoying every minute as the season can at times feel too short.  

As I watch the hallways and hear the students’ conversations and laughter I am reminded of other faces and voices I have enjoyed in this building over the last decade.  Each graduating class is unique with their own giftings and personalities.  They are here, whether it be in kindergarten, or senior high for a very brief period of time. I pray for the Lord’s wisdom and direction over all of us as we consider the future and what lies  ahead of us, but as importantly that we remain present to the students in front of us at VCS  and in our homes at the end of each day.  

My mind wanders over these things often as I drive to school.  The bright sun  mixed with fog this morning felt like a perfect metaphor.  In each moment of dependence or uncertainty  in our lives we have the promise of Jesus to hear us and give us wisdom (I Corinthians 1) and that if we are willing to lean into His Spirit’s leading He will guide and direct.  We can be confident of this because “We have the mind of Christ.” This is not only comforting, but exciting!  

I pray a blessing over each of you reading this, over each family, and over each student.  May we model to our students and children that we lean into our Father’s wisdom.

JH Jaguars Football!!

We are so proud of our JH football team! They played a great game against Frederic on August 31st. Word has it that they especially showed themselves strong in the second half!  Keep playing your best!

We are very proud of our soccer kids too!!  They headed to the Granite City Tournament in St. Cloud this morning and we prayed for safe travels and great fellowship between teams! We’ll let you know how the games turn out! 

 

Osceola Parade on Sunday!!

We are excited over the great support from students and families! So many of you have reached out to the office to let us know that you will be joining us in the parade on Sunday. We are going to have a good time! Please note that you may meet at the VCS parking lot by 11:30 to park and ride to the parade if you would like to avoid drop-offs and parking downtown. – Also, we have noted your names and are giving you credit for “volunteer hours.” See you on Sunday!!

You should have received information on sealants, fluoride treatments, and general dental health brought home by your student. Please note that this is a free service to advocate dental health.  Please read the information and return the form to the office if you would like your child to participate.  Please return by September 18th.

Our lunch volunteers are heroes. The kids and staff are so appreciative when hot lunch is served.  This last week was “walking tacos,” which brought a smile to all . 🙂
