JAGUAR NEWS

DEAR VCS PARENTS AND FRIENDS,

Welcome to Fall – the season of colors. I say that last part with some hesitation as one could claim that spring is the season of colors which it is.

Returning to the theme “let me tell you about my Jesus,” this week I want to focus on a couple of passages: Prov. 3:27 and Mar 3:7-10. The Mark passage is one of many you would find in the gospels talking about how Jesus healed those who came to Him with a wide range of diseases and oppressions. The Proverbs passage is a recounting of the instruction Solomon received from his father and mother in which he states, “Do not withhold good from those whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.” Jesus definitely did that! He healed so many people, at least in the Mark passage, that He had to retreat to a boat on the Sea of Galilee to “get some air.” Nevertheless, in the course of Jesus’ short three-year  ministry, He basically clear the land of many diseases. Put this in perspective of the recent (now officially declared over) Covid epidemic. Think of the chaos, harm, and hurt that it caused. Multiply that a few hundred times over and you might get close to the medical conditions of the first century. He cleared out the diseases in the country of Israel. We have a hard time picturing the medical conditions in that time when we have been accustomed to our modern medical services. But we have people coming to
the USA from all parts of the world to gain medical help because of what God has allowed our medical services to become.

Now, what at about you and me? What can we do in our spheres of influence to do good to others when it is in our power to do so? Some time, ask Mr. Quance about his experience this past weekend (9/18) when responding to God’s nudging to do good. You will be moved.

Reminder – VCS is a nut-free school. This includes products that are produced/processed in factories that may have use nut or nut products in some of their productions. Look on the packaging for such notices.

Wanted – 2-3 fans for some of the classrooms for better air circulation.
