JAGUAR NEWS

DEAR VCS PARENTS AND FRIENDS,

Happy Resurrection Weekend, family and friends!

He is Risen! (I hear the echo, “He is Risen indeed!”) Our families will be celebrating the significance of this day. He died on the cross to provide redemption for our sins and offer us eternal life with Him because we could not accomplish this for ourselves.  In response to this truth, my heart must bend. I am forever grateful that He has made me a new creation and that I am free because, “So if the Son sets you free you will be free indeed.” John 8:36

I have been thinking about the “consequences” to understanding this truth. There is a dependence, an utter need to “bind” yourself to the person of Jesus Christ who has offered Himself up for us.  This consequence includes not only being set free from the sin that would separate us from Him for eternity, but it sets us free from shame, condemnation, and the inability to be who He has called us to be.

He is Risen, but are we? “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.” Colossians 3:1.  It is all too easy to see things according to our “old world,” our “old nature,” and the limitations within that reality. But our new reality is that we have been raised with Christ!

The consequence to our response in accepting His gift of forgiveness includes putting away all sin but also shame! We truly walk in victory because of Him. He is with us. Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, we can come through a refining fire without even the smell of smoke upon us!

He is risen indeed! Let us also live as those who are risen with Christ.

Blessings in Christ, and a very Happy Resurrection weekend to you!

Yard Signs!!

Please stop in for your “I Support Valley Christian School” yard sign! The snow will melt soon and it will be easier for us to get those in the ground.  They are $11 per sign, but any donation is welcome.

Mother’s Day Flower Fundraiser

The mother’s day flower orders are due in the office by Monday, April 8th. Remember that each class is competing for a pizza party to make the fundraising extra fun!

Parent Surveys

You have received parent surveys to your email. Please complete those as soon as you can. It is much appreciated!

Dress Code Reminders

Parents, we are asking that you revisit the handbook with your children. We love your kids and see their faces and hearts and sometimes miss when students are out of dress code. However, we still have a standard that is important to us as we disciple your students in the Lord along with you.  Please notice especially what your child is wearing on Wednesday Chapel days. Collared shirts for boys with ties and dress pants are still required. Hoodies are not appropriate for either ladies or men. Ladies may wear modest dresses, skirts, or dress pants. Again, this is outlined in the student/ parent handbook. It is human nature to need the occasional reminder. That is okay! It is what we as support are happy to do. Bless you! And thank you for noticing what your kids are wearing to school as they leave in the morning.

Supplies Needed
We are running low on a few of our supplies. If you are able to drop anything off we would appreciate it. We are in need of kleenexes, sanitizing wipes, disposable plates, forks, spoons, and napkins. Thank you!
